CLC Book Club will meet Thursday, February 11, 1:00, through Zoom to discuss Meet Me At the Museum by Anne Youngson.
This novel is based on an actual archaeological specimen known as The Tollund Man, a perfectly preserved body from around 250 BC, unearthed in 1950 in a peat bog in Jutland, Denmark.
The story unfolds through a correspondence between Anders Larsen, a museum curator in Denmark and Tina Hopgood, a housewife on a farm in England. Anders is an urbane man of facts who has lost his wife and his hopes for the future. Tina is trapped in a life she doesn’t remember choosing. Both believe their love stories are over.
Brought together by a shared fascination with the Tollund Man, they begin writing letters to each other. As they open up to one another about their lives, happening in vastly different worlds, an un expected friendship blooms.
A link to the Zoom meeting will be sent out to book club members the Monday before the meeting.
