Beginning May 31, 2020, we will hold outdoor worship at 5:30pm on Sundays on the back lawn of the church. This service will feel different than our traditional worship, in that it is more of a time of meditation and reflection, hence the name "Fresh Air Meditations." At the recommendation of the Synod, the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), we will not be singing together.
A weather decision will be made by 12pm the day of. If weather looks inclement, outdoor worship will be canceled and the info will be posted on the church facebook page.
Please bring your own blanket and/or chairs for your family. We ask that you park in the back parking lot and ushers will show you where to go. The church building is still closed so the front doors will not be open. Restrooms by the columbarium (south end) will be open, but access to the rest of the building is restricted at this time.
In order to help us plan and keep all attendees safe, RSVPs are required. Let us know if you are attending and how many are in your family. Space is limited.
For May 31 worship, RSVP by Wednesday, May 27.
Below are the guidelines set by our Governance Board.
"So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith." Gal 6:10
CLC Guidelines for Outside Worship
As we begin the transition back to face-to-face worship, the leadership and staff of CLC are encouraging safe practices in order to limit potential COVID-19 exposure. This will require patience and grace as these changes will seem odd and may at times seem inconvenient. As Christians our calling is to serve God, and to love our neighbor – the following guidelines are strongly recommended and are informed by our collective calling to care for our neighbor, the wisdom of Galatians 6:10, and recommendations from the IN/KY Synod.
When members attend outside worship:
- Please stay home if you feel sick – (Love your neighbor!)
- Wear a mask (If possible, please provide your own mask – we have a limited supply)
- Maintain social distance of 6 ft between family groups
- Do not sing or speak in unison (i.e. Lord’s Prayer)
- Do not shake hands or engage in activities that could spread germs.
- Service will not include Holy Communion as advised by the IN-KY Synod and Office of the Bishop.
