Gretchen’s Book Club will launch the 2021 reading year with a Zoom meeting on Thursday, January 14, 1:00 p.m. to discuss Cara Wall’s debut novel, The Dearly Beloved. 

This “moving portrait of love and friendship, set against a backdrop of social change” (New York Times Book Review), traces two married couples whose lives become entangled when the husbands become copastors at a famed New York City congregation in the 1960s. 

Gretchen will send out an invitation to book club members with the Zoom link  a few days before the meeting.

The book selections for February and March are, respectively, Meet Me at the Museum by Anne Youngson and American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins.

Gretchen will send out a list of additional titles for later in the year to book club members to consider and vote on.    A number of suggestions have already been submitted, and additional titles should be sent to Gretchen by January 5^th.
